If you've lost something and we have found it, here's generally what happens: The New York State Police retain custody and will attempt to find the owner. The State Police can be reached at (212) 216-3470. After a day or so, if the owner cannot be found, the Police turn the item over to the Center's Public Safety Division (212) 216-2344. The Public Safety Division keeps lost items for 30 days. Valuable items are held up to 3 months.
